Myanmar Trip 2017

Pictures and updates will be uploaded here as well as FCC's Facebook page
Follow along here for updates on the trip to Myanmar.

Update 10/6: The team has landed at SFO and is on their way home. Thank you again for all your prayer during this trip and we will look forward to the updates on Sunday.

Update 10/5: Today was a great day of ministry and our last one. Jon finished at the Preachers Academy and Chad stayed with him and gave his testimony. The rest of us met the church that Silas attends and participated in the marriage and family conference. What a blessing! There are a few solid Christian churches in Myanmar and this is one. Please pray they would continue to exalt Christ by being focused on the Word with faith and obedience. We leave tomorrow morning so please pray that we travel healthy and safe. Bill and Chad are both not feeling well and we are all very tired from the heat and humidity and mold all around. We love you all and can't wait to get back.

Update 10/3: Lots of wonderful things yesterday in the way of praises. We were at the seminary and met the pastors. Jon got right into preaching and really got going in the afternoon with setting a solid tone and foundation for outlining a sermon. Though these men are pastors, they have a lot to learn and are as advanced as Jon thought. Please pray that these pastors will absorb everything and they wojjld be directed in their knowledge of the Scriptures. Tiffany, Karen and Ruth met with the pastors' wives and God opened their hearts. They had a special time together with hearing the testimonies and getting encouragement from our ladies. The wives even wanted them back today. Please pray Katie can continue to minister to them and establish some kind of ministry for them so they are always encouraged and prayed for.

The children at the orphanage were delighted to get the FCC t-shirts. Once they got the shirts they didn't even care about all the other gifts. They were happy with the shirts because they all matched.

Update 10/1: Hello everyone. Praise the Lord for a great day of worship today. Bill, Karen, Ruth, Chad and Joe went to a small church where Bruce preached. Jon and Tiffany went to a church where Jon preached and Tiffany sang a song. We were all blessed. Tomorrow morning we go to the school and conduct chapel with singing, a children's lesson and a safety lesson. In the afternoon we are at an orphanage to minister to those children.
Please pray that all we do will be effective and touch their hearts for Christ.
Also pray for Bill as his stomach is getting queasy and that he does not get fully sick.

Update 9/30: Please pray for Jon as he preaches tomorrow at church. It is with an interpreter which makes it hard to maintain a flow and loses passion. It is 9:30pm on Saturday here and we are in our rooms ready for bed. We just came home from the Bustle's home where we spent time with Bruce and his family, Silas and his family, Thomas and his family, and a couple other seminary people. We had a wonderful time of dinner and fellowship getting to know them better and playing with the Bustle kids. We are split up tomorrow at two different churches. Please pray that we connect well with those churches and have a great day of worship. We are now starting a very involved week of ministry so pray all we do is strategic and well-done and Christ is exalted. Also pray for Karen as she is not feeling well. She is still able to do things, but is weakened. Thank you all for praying.

Update 9/28: We are exploring and spending time with Ping and Silas and Katie. We flew to Pagan to spend time with a missionary family and to understand the religious culture. Establishing relationships for present and future ministry.

Update 9/27: Hi everyone. It was a great day with Ping and Silas seeing a little bit of Yangon. We were seeing a pagoda and we all had to be barefooted while walking through. Ruth slipped and fell hard. We stopped and prayed for her in the midst of that place. The Lord was so gracious to her and she only got the wind knocked out of her and avoided any injury to her back. We all left there immediately and went somewhere else. Please continue to pray for her, for her not to be sore or injured. Tomorrow we fly to Bagan with Katie and her son. Please pray we connect with them well and get to know them too. Don't think we'll visit any pagodas, though.

Update 9/26: Overall everyone is doing great. We had some good fellowship time with Bruce and Jeremy already and today we will be with Ping and Silas who are showing us around Myanmar today. Please pray for us to get to know both of them much better and I'm especially eager to get to know Silas because he ministers with Bruce and Jeremy all the time and is a local.
